I grew up 45 minutes away from Ohio University and it for the most part a very liberal school. I would hope young minds would be more open these days but I see that is not true. I guess these hicks do not go up to Columbus which is an hour way. Columbus has the largest gay population in the midwest. Here is a snipet of an article written by a gay student going to Ohio U who was rejected by his future roommate once they found out he was gay via facebook.
"That was when I found out their real motivation. 'Listen, we do not have a friend moving in. We were just trying to be nice; we both just feel really uncomfortable living with a homosexual.' Now what am I to do? I can’t leave because I’m not allowed, and I can’t stay because I fear for my own safety. I’ve been talking back and forth with them and they feel that I am obligated to leave because of their discomfort. I wonder if they realize mine — especially when I read their statuses on Facebook declaring X is a homophobe at 8:58 p.m., and X hates faggots at 9:21 p.m." (read the whole article)

Just got back from Ft Lauderdale this weekend and had a blast as usual, besides my roommate and I fighting on and off. I went with Marcus and my friend Kevin who was also meeting up with his Canadian friends Darryl and Mark. On Friday we dined at Rosies and enjoyed a couple of drinks ;) Then headed back to our hotel and called for a taxi to take us to China White in downtown Ft Lauderdale. They had free well drinks till midnight so I downed about 3 vodka cranberries in 15 minutes, and they were actually strong and not watered down. We danced and walked around and I enjoyed a few more drinks ;) Well I was feeling very good at that point. I had brought my camera so was taking some pictures of my group and the club in general. Then I danced on the box for a while though I don't remember much of that lol!
A typical Saturday except it was raining here in Florida. I woke up and we had a delicious breakfast that consisted of pancakes mmmmm. Then we headed out to the mall, what else can you do on a rainy day? Well we hit all the stores. I needed something from the Zirh counter at Bloomies, well the rep was there that sold me my first Zirh products over five years ago. It was nice seeing her she reminds me of a beautiful drag queen back home in Ohio lol. I know that sounds bad but she is very nice looking. Then I went to AF and bought two polos today, I really needed some everyday clothes so I broke down and bought them. Oh oh and as we left Macy's they caught a shoplifter that they chased down in the parking lot and took down to the ground, he really struggled. What I don't understand is why people shoplift at Macys, everything is always on sale there and it is not like it is Nieman Marcus we are talking about? pfft people are dumb! For dinner my roommate and I went to Moe's for some burritos mmm good! Ok now only one more week of work before we are off for a three day weekend in South Florida yay!
Almost 30% of gay adult industry performers in the survey were either HIV positive or didn't know their status. While most were comfortable working with HIV positive performers, many were concerned about the lack of discussion surrounding HIV and STDs on set . Over 80% of performers strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that condom-using studios provided adequate safety measures to protect them from HIV, but little more than half of the respondents felt that the they were being protected adequately from non-HIV risks like hepatitis, HPV or syphilis.
I have been waiting for sometime for this announcement! Yes this is the fag in me, but I will be making a trip to Las Vegas in October to see her!
"The indestructible diva, who retired from touring in 2005, will star in a song-and-dance spectacle starting May 6 at the 4,100-seat Colosseum in Caesars Palace. She'll perform four shows weekly for one month, then return mid-August through early October, leapfrogging stints with Bette Midler. Her pact with promoter AEG Live extends three years. Says Cher: "Creatively, we're doing something that's never been done with sets. Getting the whole thing in book form, in pictures, has taken months. Our set moves down from the ceiling, in from the sides, up from the floor. We have screens in the foreground, the center and the back. We can change a city into a forest in two seconds. You'll see a different stage for every song." The show plans to cover "all chapters of Cher's career, from her Sonny & Cher start to her recent dance-pop phase" according to the paper. (source)
